Aloha everyone!!
The office called at SEVEN AM!!!  7am!!   She said she was so excited she had to call right away! (I'm not sure if I should mention that DARLING girls name, so I won't, but she is DARLING!)  She submitted YESTERDAY and it was approved pretty much the same day!  WOW
Now I wait for the "scheduler" to call!! (she said that takes 7-10 days!)  I'm set with my Pulmonary and Cardiac appts (wow, from what I was reading I have ALOT to pray for!)

What should I be doing?  I know its a stupid question, but really what?  should I try to diet? severely? I know I should be giving up coffee (my WEAKNESS) but now? right before?   I should be stocking up on liquids right? but which ones?  is CIB the only stuff for after?
Help!  (I know you will)
Bless you all for your constant prayers and advice!  It helps, it really does!
Get ready for a new loser on the bench!  I'm so so so grateful and EXCITED!

Congratulations on your upcoming surgery.

Relax, you don't need to stock up on a laudry list of bariatric friendly foods, liquids, etc.  It may be overwhelming at first but once you go through the whole motion, it'll come so easy.

I recommend you ask your surgery center for a list of things they recommend.  Yes, a case of 16.9 bottled water would not hurt because you'll need to be sipping throughout the day.  I would purchase various things such as Isopure, broth (be creative and make your own soups because the ones at the store can get pretty boring), Pure Protein shakes, jello, etc.

Once you get off the liquid stage and begin to eat food, it'll be easier (egg whites, beans, cooked carrots, etc.).

Good luck!

Congrats!!!

The time will move so fast now, and yet, seem like its going at a snails pace.

About the "stocking up" found out what you are going to be able to eat, before stocking up. Some doc let you leave the hospital on soft food.

Change you coffee to decaf. That way you can still have your coffee.

Talk to your doc, find out what he/she thinks you should be doing to perpare.

Congrats!!!

So happy for you ...it won't be long before we are moving over to give you your place on the losers bench.
SF jello, Popsicles, instead of those little cubes or packets for broth buy a jar each of beef and chicken of BETTER THAN BOUILLON. It is really good, you can get it at most grocery stores.
But before buying anything see what your surgeons protocol is and follow that to the letter.

So Happy For you

Congratulations!

Swanson chicken broth, SF jello all flavors, I settled on jayrobb.com protein powder and mixed it with soy slender, Davinci SF syrup and water.  Lots of water, I stocked up on bottled water and used DaVinci sugar free syrups to flavor it.  I sailed through the first month with no problem.

These folks sent free samples of protein powder:  I sent them an email explaining I was going to have WLS.  They were happy to send out freebies.

Dalis congratulations on your approval...it will only be a matter of time before you are scheduled.

Food wise...I did the swason chicken broth in the little boxes...but as far as stocking up...I would not. Your tastes will change. As far as giving up coffee...I did not...doc let me have it in hospital and said I could drink it if I could tolerate it. I did and was grateful to get some as I had a wicked headache the day I had to come home. My sweet hubby brought me some in a thermos! LOL

Thanks Janine!  The problem for me is, I've been drinking coffee with cream and sugar---so THAT is out....and they keep saying its a diuretic, and I might get dehydrated (not sure I really believe that)  Anyway, I'm a rebel (sorta) and I'm determined to follow ALL (translated MOST) of the Dr's orders.    If my darling Hubby brought me coffee, then it kind of doesn't count right???  LOL
Those caffine headaches are a BEAR and I'm NOT looking forward to it!
So now, next question, liquid vitamins?   a must?  Protein powder?  yes/no?  I look at their stuff, but I TRUST what i see here!
Thanks and thanks again!
